Bosch immo

  • hello !

I hope anyone can help me in Englisch :)
I am not good in Deutsch that's why I write this post.

I have only one working remote (one single button) - robert bosch (vim 171)
As I know to have such one programmed must hotline be telefoned to get 4 digit code for starting the procedure.

I just wanted to ask if anywone knew if it is difficult to cut off
this bosch immobiliser system with alarm in this model (explorer 1997) ?

So I would use only keys to open the car and start engine.
Now to deactivate the alarm and immo I must pusch one button at the remote - and I have only one remote working. :(:ditsch:

Thanks in advanced and I hope english is acceptable here :)

Yes, of course: English is acceptable!
Although I will try to translate Your question,
for those members who might know a solution
    but only in German ..

    @Frage an alle:

  • hi

    thanks for translating :)

I went through this forum to search for the solution (also link above) but my german is poor so I do not understand most text.

So if somebody would just write short answer for my question:

is it possible (and easy) to throw away from the car (this model) the bosch immobilser and alarm so that to start engine only key will be needed without remote?

Can ford dealer can do that for cheap?

To be honest every time I go off road somehere far away from the roads I am little scared that this last remote will die and I will be lost somehere in the wild :D

    Thanks in advanced!

  • ...
and if someone maybe have done that with her/his ford I would appreciate a contact/info.

My local ford dealer says they can do that but I do not trust them ,
The gave me some evidence they are not good specialists :(

  • Did you already check out our Members-List ? We have some more guys living in PL. Maybe anybody has a good advice for a dealer / Ford-service where you can be sure to get remedy of the immo-prob.

  • I've found this on http://www.explorerforum.com

My European EX seems to have come with a factory immobilizer. I may be wrong but it seems to be of German origin. Actually it’s the same as i had in my Jeeps. I tried to get the dealer to remove it and they said it was impossible.

Good idea, thanks, I will check.
Generally in Poland ford explorer was sold some years ago, but it was equipped with different anti-theft system.

My eFord Explorerl. comes from Germany so I hope here I will find somebody can help :)

    Born to be wild:
That's why I do not believe my local ford dealer - they say to cut it off is just a matter of 30 minutes - I think they are not know what there are talking about - but maybe I am wrong ?

But in the other side - thieves steal such cars and they need only few minutes?

So is it possible or no in this ex version?
Maybe not remove but maybe the trick?

Good question! Maybe you should join those guys as apprentice? :ditsch:

  • If you can´t find any other way to get rid of it, go and negotiate a fixed rate for dismounting the immo with your local dealer. Than there´s no need to care about the time they need for.

    Never! :eyes:

Why not? Remorseful 'specialists' are a great asset to the community. They tell us how easy it is to bypass immobilizers, etc. for which the first owner paid a premium to the dealer, thinking his/her car is Ft. Knox on four wheels. ;)

Disclaimer: I do NOT encourage anyone to take to such activity! :niemals:

  • You are right :)
Like hackers in computer world ?(
They are BAD but make the neverending process of improving the software etc... because of finding holes in it.

Such people secure the jobs of MANY others! #devil#

Anyway, we should stop this discussion and hope for someone to post sound advice regarding your question.
